Stretching our Evangelistic Muscles

Yep, that’s what we’ll be doing come December 21, 2013!

Outreached Hands Ministries (our Bible study group now has a name and a great purpose) will be holding a free meal and live Christian music event at our local Guntown,MS Community Center! God has moved us to do this and we are all so excited!! It just never seems to amaze me how much God truly moves those that are faithful to Him and His Word. I mean we never thought it would get this far. We had always known from the start that we would continue a small home Bible study but we never thought we would actually be fulfilling the role of the church of Christ!

As the body of Christ we are all called collectively and individually to go and spread the Gospel, but I never thought that it would be like this. I’ve always had a fire for sharing the Gospel with others ,although my own shyness and fears have always prevented me from doing so, I just never thought it would be on such a grand scale when we actually reached out to people!

I can’t wait for that day to come! The Lord has just blessed this week after week! We have received donations from all kinds of people! My grandfather donated the building, another man donated a whole case of crackers and many others! It’s just amazing how God works!

So, yes Outreached Hands will be stretching our Evangelistic muscles on Dec. 21! So pray for us that we will have boldness and share the whole Gospel in Truth!!!

SPREAD THE FIRE!!!

Jesus said “I have come to start a fire upon the world and how I wish it were already kindled!!”

Dear friends, you can be saved by the GRACE of GOD!! It is by grace, through faith, that we are Saved!! It cannot be earned , it is freely given!
Remember that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life!!
The Christian life is not – Heaven one day – but – Christ right now!!! Jesus said that if you remain in me and I remain in you then me and my Father will come and make our home with you.
For all that call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved!!
This is the power of the Gospel! That you are saved by GRACE!!! Yes, I said it GRACE!!
Not works lest any man should boast!!
All that is required from you is this:

Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead then you will be saved!!

Please accept the freedom that is in the name of Jesus Christ!!

The Real Gospel

So what exactly is the Gospel?? Well first of all Gospel means good news, not good news then the bad. So if we go around and say “Yea your saved because you believe. BUT!!! If you don’t do what we say God will just hate you again.”. Yea I’m paraphrasin’ but that is what a lot of people hear. One minute their Saved then the next minute their condemned sinners again. Where is the freedom in Jesus there?? I thought my chains were broken off?!? I thought I could now press on and enjoy life with Christ? No, not according to most people, especially here in the Bible Belt of Mississippi. I’ve heard it a lot and our Brother Johnny said that he never heard so much of it before he moved down here. So I would like to clarify to everyone what the REAL Gospel is:

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth as man. Just like me and you. Except He lived a sinless life completely dependent upon God for every step He took. He was blameless. Then He willfully took crusifixion on His cross to pay for our sins. He bore the sins of the entire world on that one day. Sins for past, present and future! He payed for our sins so that we could be forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life! After His death , He rose from the dead on the third day and sent everyone who believes the Holy Spirit!! The Holy Spirit is our comforter, it guides us into all Truth! Jesus Christ came to live within us, through the Holy Spirit!! The scripture says:

There is therefore now NO condemnation, for those who believe in Jesus Christ!!

All you have to do is believe and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour!!

So, is this the Gospel you heard? Because it’s the one the Bible teaches?!

May the Lord move in us!!

Hello again everyone, I’ll start to post more from now on, so I apologize for being neglectful.

Family,I love you all and thank you all for paying attention to this blog because it encourages me and brings me hope.

I’m growing in my walk with Jesus and things are getting so much bigger around here than I thought. He is too good to us. His grace is more abounding than I could ever imagine. I praise you Father!! More and more people are coming to our Bible Studies so much so that…God has sent me a dream a few months ago. And now me and my mother have confirmed it. She had the exact same dream.

We both saw a white church and many people coming to it. We knew this was our church and I have a feeling we will preach God’s Word here. My conscience and the Holy Spirit bear witness of me and it is the truth. I ask that all of you will pray for us. Even if you don’t know us and won’t ever meet us, though I pray we will someday see each other face to face, wish that you all would pray for us that God will continue to use us and guide us to do His will.

May God bless you all, peace and grace to you all.

Bless you all.

New baby in the house!! Meet Josiah Michaels!!!

This is the new addition to my growing family! My second little boy!! I’m a proud daddy that’s for sure!

I know it’s been awhile since I have posted and I do apologize everyone, a lot has been going on around here. But our Bible study is growing we now have one new member and our good friend Johnny is bringing two more people with him next week! God is so good and He continues to use us for the work of His Kingdom. I ask that all of you keep us in your prayers and pray that God will keep us strong and of good endurance to run the race and fight the good fight of faith!!

God bless you all!!!

God has canceled our debt through Christ.

When we believe and put our faith in Christ the most amazing thing happens. Suddenly we are reborn and return to what God had for Adam in the beginning. That we are now in His image and His likeness. Then we are forgiven of our sins and will forever,so long as we repent, have forgiveness of our sins.

Colossians 2:14
“by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside nailing it to the cross.”

Know my friends that Christ came to make all things new. If you will believe on Him and seek Him,for He alone is Truth. Then you will be forgiven of your debt or sin. You are made a new creation through Christ, that you should no longer suffer alone in your shame or walk in the ways that you used to do. But Christ came that all people should come to Him. It is true that scripture that says ” In Him we live and move and have our being.”
Let us then stand together as children who have obtained mercy and give praise to God. Knowing that in all things Jesus is with us. He has never and will never forsake us. I thank God everyday for His mercy because without it, we could never have gotten this far.

Thank You Jesus!!

Mathew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you

God has truly blessed us these past few weeks. As we move forward and continue to strive toward the calling on our lives God has delivered to each of us. We have learned a lot. My mom has found that worship is really were God wants her right now and I have always had the calling of preaching, or teaching or whatever you would like to label it. I just like to say that God has placed His Word in my heart. I feel like Paul said in 1 Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 9:16

For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

Nothing else moves me and brings me to life than to talk about the Word of God!! It’s when I come alive. And when I feel blank ,like I have nothing to say, then the Holy Spirit completely takes over and I have no other choice but to get the words out before I explode. But I do not boast of such a thing as I shouldn’t anyway. Because with such a calling comes a responsibility to others. Jesus said it like this.

Mathew 23:11

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

And so I seek that I do nothing of my own, and that Jesus may move through me to do His will. We must lose our will in His perfect will! We must lose our lives in His life. Then we find our will, and then we find true life. I thank God each day for the many blessings He has given unto us. And I ask that we simply be a blessing to others. That we speak only the Truth.

I thank God that He has moved in us in such a strong way. We are far from perfect and I can name a hundred people that are better, by the standards of this world, than we are. But praise be to God that He chooses the lowly and the contrite to further His kingdom. Even Jesus said he came not to save the righteous but the sinner.

Our Bible Study has started to grow, not in numbers as most would measure, but by fellowship, by love, and by understanding. And as it grows I pray we can move forward, become bold for the Word, for Jesus and for the children of God! That we let no carnal fear get in the way of the path God has placed on.

Jesus you are the answer for the question WHY. You are the true Light of this world! And we, by being your children have become partakers in that light bringing to the darkest places that all may have the gift of eternal life!

Praise you Jesus!!!

Weapons of Righteousness

God has brought me to a verse and I have learned a lot from it. So I would like to share with you all what the Lord has taught me.

2 Corinthians 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”

2 Corinthians 6:4-7 “but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,  beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;  by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love;  by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;”

So first of all, why do we as Christians need weapons?

Well our weapons aren’t carnal or primal or even physical. Our weapons are the weapons of righteousness.

Ephesians 6:17″..the sword of the Spirit,”

But what really are our weapons? We have many weapons! Many, many weapons!! The evil one has really got his hands full with us because we have an entire arsenal of weaponry just waiting to be deployed if we would just take time to study and show ourselves approved!! So let me list some of our weapons here, then I will show what each one is and how they can be used.

1.Power of God

–Wow! We have the power of God on our side! Isn’t that simply amazing!! If God is with us, who can stand against us?

The power of God is always around us we simply have to call out the name of Jesus Christ. Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God.”

2.Holy Spirit

–Again he has given us a super natural power!! So how do we truly use the Holy Spirit? Well lets look at the gospel of John with the story of Jesus and Nicodemus.

John 3: 8 “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

You see when we are truly born again and give all that we are over to Jesus Christ he sends down the Holy Spirit to be with us always!! It happens right then! You do not have to speak in tounges, like many false teachers will tell you, to prove you have the Holy Spirit. That is just a doctrine of the devil to destroy the good work of Jesus Christ.

Then after we are born again we find out in this scripture of John 3:8 that the Spirit comes and goes when it wishes. When we need that extra push or that extra power from God, He stirs up the Holy Spirit within us. But it is always with us.

3.Love

–Love is the greatest thing this world has ever seen. We all know John 3:16 “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten to Son.” So the love of Jesus Christ within us is also a weapon against evil. John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

See perfect love casts out the spirit of fear in all things.

4.Endurance

–We are given great endurance by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in all things.

2 Corinthians 6:4-5 “but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,  beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger”

5.Purity

–We have a weapon of purity so that no evil may touch us by being blameless, righteous, and holy

6.Knowledge

–We have true knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! So that the Word of God is implanted in our hearts and minds.

7.Patience

–We have a weapon of patience as well if we will call upon Jesus. Because the devil is patient as well and he will wait for you to make a mistake.

8.Kindness

–We have the weapon of kindness as well.

Proverbs 25:22

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the LORD will reward you.

9.Truthful Speech

Our weapon of truthful speech is the greatest weapon we have. For our tongue is the most vile thing of our body! It defiles us and can destroy us. But truthful speech brings light , understanding and brings the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ to others, and gives the devil no room to attack us.

With these weapons we can defeat the evil in our lives and stand against the evil of this world.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,  praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
